Secretary, Cultural Council

Candidate 1.  Anish Ganju, BS-MS 2016

Write Up :

It isn’t work when you enjoy what you do. This is what I realised as the Vice Secretary of the Cultural Council. My major reason for applying for this post as well as my vision for this post is mainly to solidify the foundation and relations we’ve made until today. And frankly I won’t be able to do this without help from the entire community. We know that an idea is nothing without implementation so that’s what I hope I can bring to the table.

Secretary, Career Development Council

Candidate 1.  Sreepadmanabh M, BS-MS 2016

Write Up :

I am a second-year undergrad student of IISER-Bhopal who will be contesting for the post of Secretary, Career Development Council in the forthcoming elections.

I am well-experienced in this regard – not only am I currently the CDC’s Vice-Secretary, I have also been an integral part of the same for over a year.

My agenda is highly diverse, and built on the concept of holistically developing, as well as firmly establishing the CDC as this Institute’s premier organization. I intend to expand the scope of the CDC to include not just the BS-MS, but also the PhD students by exploring Placements / Post-Doc opportunities. Helping the students develop a dynamic profile shall also be our prime focus – with emphasis on Internship opportunities and MOUs with the Industry – so as to boost their employability.

In order to build up IISER-Bhopal’s presence in the corporate arena, I shall adopt multiple avenues including workshops, pre-placement talks and campus visits, so as to enhance our profile in industrial circles.

A strong emphasis shall be laid on developing ties with successful startups and to help interested students gain exposure to the same. Additionally, I shall attempt to expand beyond the traditional scope of the CDC by organizing events like MUNs which shall surely help boost our public image.

President, SAC

Candidate 1. Chaudhari Jay Atulkumar, BS-MS 2014

Write Up:

I have been part of clubs, fests and events being either a volunteer or a team member. I was elected as Class Representative (CR) during my first year and part of book club. The following year, I volunteered in Singularity’15 and later, was a nominated member of core committee of two fests Uttarang’15 and Singularity’16. Apart from this, I was part of IISER Bhopal’s football team during IISM’15 held here and was part of organizing team of Armageddon. All these experiences have given me exposure to various councils, their working and limitations and problems faced by us.

Being a representative of the student body as the President of SAC will be great opportunity for me to serve the fellow students. I believe with commitment and collective efforts, any issue can be resolved and with that belief, I promise a “15-day deadline plan” to take action and report back for any issue forwarded to us within 15 days. I feel this is essential for increasing the transparency of the system and aid communication among the general body and administration. Further, I plan to implement a “Transport pooling system” with help of CNC, for our ever-increasing student community to facilitate trips during weekdays.
