Election

The elections shall take place somewhat around the last week of August or the first week of September. The dates shall be such that the Oath Ceremony lies at September. Under any circumstances, the elections must not be delayed than a maximum of two weeks. The events in the election procedure should occur in the following chronological order

  • SACEC shall be set up.
  • Nominations for the Confined Elections shall be filed to the SACEC.
  • Confined Elections for the RC and the Mess Committee (except the Secretaries) shall be organized by the SACEC.
  • Some members from RC shall be included in SACEC.
  • Nominations for the General Elections shall be filed to SACEC.
  • All the nominations shall be checked for genuineness by the SACEC and ballot shall be released.
  • Nominees shall be allowed to alter the details of the nomination forms they have submitted up to a specific deadline. Afterwards the final ballot shall be released.
  • Nominees shall be allowed to roll back their nominations up to a specified deadline; afterwards the ballet shall be locked.
  • General Elections shall be organized by SACEC.
  • Results of the General Elections shall be declared and hence the Preliminary Senate1 shall be formed.
  • Nominations for the Nominated Posts, shall be filed to the Preliminary Senate.
  • Nominees shall be allowed to file-back their nominations for the Nominated Posts until the Preliminary Senate Meeting.
  • Preliminary Senate along with the CAC shall decide upon the Nominated Posts.
  • The final Senate shall be released and the Oath Ceremony shall take place.
  • On the first meeting of the Senate and the Councils, election via Recommendations shall take place.
  • Club Coordinators shall be later elected by the Clubs themselves.

General Elections

In this stage, the whole General Body will be permitted to vote. This procedure will decide the following six posts in the Senate:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary: Career Development  Council
  • Secretary: Cultural Council
  • Secretary: Fine Arts and Literary Council
  • Secretary: Science Council
  • Secretary: Sports Council

 

 

 

 

 

 

Confined Elections

In this Stage, only a section (batch) of the General Body is permitted to vote. This procedure will decide following posts in the RC:

  • UG Batch Representatives
  • Secretary: PG Affairs (Male)
  • Secretary: PG Affairs (Female)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nominated Posts

The eligible candidates for the following posts will file their nominations to the Senate, and the existing Senators along with the CAC will decide upon the most appropriate nomination among them.

  • Treasurer
  • Secretary: CNC
  • Secretary: RC (UG-Male)
  • Secretary: RC (UG-Female)

Nominees for the secretary RC should be a member of the current Reprsentative Council.

The eligible candidates for Academic Senate Representative (ASR) will file their nominations to the Senate, and the existing Senators along with the former Senators will decide upon the most appropriate nomination among them. The final decision however is subjected to the approval of DOSA and DOAA.

Clubs will decide the Club Coordinators within themselves.
